I didn’t grow up obsessed with skincare.

I didn’t collect serums or obsess over routines.

To be honest — I did the opposite.

I tanned.

I baked in the sun.

I used tanning beds.

I skipped sunscreen because no one ever told me I needed it — and even if they did, I probably wouldn’t have listened.

Skincare wasn’t a ritual.

It wasn’t even a thought.

Life was happening — fast, messy, real — and I was too busy surviving to worry about whether my skin barrier was okay.

And then one day, I looked in the mirror and didn’t recognize the skin staring back at me.

Time… stress… damage… life…

it all showed up at once.

That was the moment everything changed.

The Late Start — and the Wake-Up Call

I didn’t take skincare seriously until my late 40s.

By then:

  • aging wasn’t theoretical
  • collagen wasn’t “future me’s” problem
  • and bad habits had left their mark

I did what most people do:

I bought products that promised miracles.

I listened to influencers.

I tried every “must have.”

I wasted money.

I felt overwhelmed.

I felt misled.

And sometimes, I felt stupid for falling for marketing instead of results.

And after failure number… I lost count…

I finally realized something:

Skincare isn’t about trends — it’s about understanding.

Life Didn’t Hand Me Easy — So I Built Better

I didn’t build Glóavia from comfort.

I built it from struggle, loss, rebuilding, and refusing to give up when life tried to take the wheel.

This brand wasn’t born in a boardroom.

It was built:

  • in late-night research
  • in moments of “why is this so damn confusing?”
  • in the frustration of spending money on products that did nothing
  • in the fire of deciding I deserved better — and so does everyone else

Glóavia isn’t just skincare to me.

It’s proof.

Proof that it’s never too late to take care of yourself.

Never too late to start again.

And never too late to demand better.

My journey isn’t glossy — and that’s the point.

I built Glóavia for:

  • the late starters
  • the overwhelmed
  • the women rebuilding
